The clean-car handoff
Make getting in part of the adventure.
The boots are separate from the layer on purpose. Front and rear paws can be sized differently, grip stays underfoot, and one muddy boot can come off without undressing the dog.
Brush off
A quick pass gets the loose sand and trail pieces before the door opens.
Boots on
Each boot opens wide, settles around the paw, and cinches at the narrow part of the leg.
Ride home
The dog gets the comfortable seat. The beach gets to stay at the beach.
Long coat, light layer
Coverage cannot come at the cost of comfort.
Dogs do most of their cooling by panting, so we are not building a warm shell and calling it “cooling.” The Rove brief starts with documented air permeability, a light stretch body, open-knit gussets, and denser capture panels only where they earn their place.

A hybrid, not a raincoat
The right fabric changes with the job.
Parachute-style ripstop can make sense where sand and spray hit hardest. Across a fluffy dog's whole body, a tightly woven windproof shell is the wrong starting point.

Fit before the first ride.
Why are the boots separate from Road One?+
Paws need weight-bearing measurement, and front and rear sizes can differ. Separate boots also keep a flexible grippy sole underfoot and make fit checks and replacement much simpler.
What is best for a long-haired dog?+
Road Short is the lighter default for warm days. Road One adds neck, leg, hip and tail-base coverage when maximum containment matters, but it still uses open paws, a free tail and airflow-first zones.
Will there be a full tail cover?+
Not as the default. The first patterns cover the high-shed tail base while leaving the tail free for movement and communication. Any longer tail option has to clear snag, elimination and fit testing first.
When can I order?+
Road One is the first release and the waitlist gets first access. The other pieces follow the demand we see in the form—no payment is taken today.
How should the layer be used?+
For supervised travel sessions, with the same common-sense heat and fit checks you would use for any dog apparel. It is not restraint gear and it is not intended for all-day wear.
